Dog Health Problems, Symptoms Related To Rabies

Rabies is a viral  disease that causes acute inflammation of the brain in dogs. It is one of the most common dog diseases. If you think your dog may have health problems, i have listed below the ones that are related to rabies. These are the symptoms to look out for when you think your dog may have rabies. There you go: Dog health problems, symptoms related to rabies

1. Change in behaviour
Usually the first thing to pay attention to when suspecting a case of rabies is probably the change in behaviour. Your dog may become easily excitable, somewhat nervous and restless. This condition may subside, to reappear within a short time. There are cases where a dog that was friendly all of a sudden becomes irritable and snappy while a dog that was not that much amiable may become friendly.

Days later the dog may have a tendency to wander, sometimes he may not be found around for a day or two. After he returns you may noticed that he has considerably lost weight. The dog will then develop preference for dark corners and hidden areas. It may also happen sometimes that there is a change in the way the dog barks, a tone change in the barking.

2. Partial paralysis
Later you may notice that your dog is partially paralyzed, he staggers, he is also finding it difficult to drink water, even though he puts in much effort. The staggering will continue until complete paralysis sets in and finally your dog dies.

3. Dog snaping
In the worst case, the dog becomes aggressive, he will snap at every object placed before him, he may even attack other dogs. When placed inside a cage the dog will aggressively attack the bars that he may end up breaking some of his teeth.

Note that many dogs affected with rabies do not necessarily show the symptoms listed above. The symptoms may be more or less masked and perhaps be manifested eventually only by paralysis.

In a case called “dumb form of rabies” the outsiding features are the paralytic symptoms. The dog may not be vicious, he is not even excitable and has not tendency to roam. One outstanding feature of the “dumb form of rabies” is the paralysis of the lower jaw, it is also called “dropped jaw”. The dog’s jaws remains open, he has lost the power to close his own jaw even though they can be closed with human hand. In case you see your dog’s jaw has dropped, do not try to close them yourself, that may lead to an infection through your hands, note that rabies is contagious and can be transmitted from dog to human.

These are the symptoms to look out for when your dog may seem to have rabies. Don’t forget to seek medical attention when needed.

Dog Health Problems – Symptoms Of 4 Dog Diseases You Must Know

It’s important for every dog owner to recognize dog health problems and symptoms as your furry pal relies on you to be his or her “first responder” when they have a problem.  You can tell when they aren’t feeling all that well but do you really know what to do?  Listed below are the symptoms for some common dog health problems ranging from the everyday to the very serious.

Dog Diarrhea

The symptoms of this condition are pretty obvious.  Your canine buddy is probably going to express some pain when defecating because that strain is just magnifying the pain in his stomach.  The stool will be runny and may be an abnormal color.  The odor will be more intense.

Diarrhea in dogs is quite common thanks to a dog’s complete lack of discrimination in what he eats.  If it smells okay and doesn’t hurt his mouth then it is potential food.  As a result they eat stuff that makes them sick.

Symptoms Of Lyme Disease In Dogs

Lyme disease is a bacterium known as Borrelia which is transmitted to your dog through a tick bite.  Unfortunately, there are no symptoms until weeks after the infection and when they do show they are often mistaken for other ailments.

The most common symptom is one that appears to be arthritis.  Joints and lymph glands can become swollen making it very painful for the dog to walk or even get comfortable laying down.  Your pal will become listless, may refuse to eat because the effort hurts too much, and may revert to using the inside of the house as his bathroom rather than going outside.

The giveaway that this is Lyme’s and not arthritis is that the affected limbs will change.  When arthritis develops it doesn’t move around.  With Lyme’s disease one side of your dog can be affected one week and then suddenly it heals and the other side is affected.

Symptoms of Distemper

Distemper is an airborne virus that is highly contagious and affects the dog’s respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems.  Distemper will first show itself with cold like symptoms with watery eyes, runny nose, a cough and sometimes diarrhea.  Later in the development of the disease the dog will suffer from disorientation, twitching and even convulsions.  Unfortunately there is no effective treatment for this disease.

Symptoms of Ear Infections

These infections are fairly common particularly with dogs that have heavy earflap like Bassets and Dachshunds.  The infection is caused by bacteria or yeast that appear when there is a change in the dog’s ear like an infestation of ticks or mites.  Symptoms of an ear infection include the shaking of the head, a pawing of the ears, pain and a foul odor coming from the ears.

Of course there are many more ailments that can affect your canine friend but the thing to remember is prevention.  It’s really not so different from taking care of a kid.  Keep their shots up to date, keep them well fed and clean and provide clean bedding.  Parasites cause most of the problems and if you can limit your dog’s exposure to strange dogs you are limiting the possibility of exposure to disease.  If you notice dog health problems that do not go away after a few days, take your pal to the vet.

Dog Health Problems Symptoms – What You Feed Your Pet Can Really Determine Your Dog’s Health

Hello, my name is Mike, and I wanted to do my article a little differently than what you may be normally seeing.

First, I’m going to ask you a question. Do you have a dog that you love as if they were your own, and would do anything for them? If the answer is yes, then it is my pleasure to be writing this article just for you.

If you’re just like me, someone who’s life just wouldn’t be whole without the love and affection of a furry friend, you want to keep them happy, healthy, and around for a long long time. Sadly however, some of our beloved dogs don’t get much of a chance at life. They get flat out cheated.

Your dog needs 5 things for a happy, healthy life. They are:

1) Love
2) Shelter
3) Exercise
4) Water
The 5th, and MOST IMPORTANT thing, is food.

Right now I bet you’re thinking, “So what? I make sure to feed my dog every day.” (Believe me, my dog Bernie does NOT let me forget). The statement isn’t referring to if you feed your dog, which I really do appreciate, as I absolutely can’t stand a hungry dog in my presence, it’s so sad.

The statement refers to WHAT you feed your dog. Again, you may be saying to yourself, “So What about it? I feed my dog…dog food. What’s wrong with that?”

What’s wrong with that? EVERYTHING!

Did you know that your dog could be a cannibal? Or that the commercial dog food that you’re feeding your best friend could be slowly poisioning him? That the *actual* lifespan of your dog, under optimal conditions, is supposed to be TWENTY SEVEN YEARS?

How about things that can explain many of your dog’s health problems symptoms, such as:

Excessive Dog Panting

Diarrhea

Dog Throwing Up

Pancreatitis

Other Dog Health Problems Symptoms

Keep Your BEST FRIEND fit and healthy for a much longer time than the criminally and measly 11 year average life expectancy for a dog in the US.

Get peace of mind about speaking up for your dog about this grave injustice. They can’t speak for themselves, so please, do it for them.

Thank you for spending your time with me today in reading my article. I hope the time you used was well spent. If you haven’t done so yet, please check out Dog Food Secrets. There will be an 8 minute video displayed that will change your life.
